Spaceboom v0.3


Finally! 0.3 is ready, and personally that's huge.

What it means, besides all the changes, bug fixes and content added, is that the final line is in sight. This version was a milestone, after which I would mostly be working on creating stages for the game. So far there are 26 maps in solo game, and 4 maps for local pvp. My vision on the final game would be to have 100+ maps. Bigger, more complex with many challenges and secrets spread around. But  I will leave that for an other devlog.


v0.3 Changes:

-new prototype VFX+SFX when healing

-new "heat haze" implementation

-changed "Gametype choice" screen

-new space ambient sound

-new engine ambient sound

-new smoke VFXs for different health levels of the spaceships

-changed "Protector" can now protect you from grinders and lazerfences

-new "Critical damage" state. When getting critical damage, apart from the initial damage your spaceship takes, it will also start losing hp points until it reaches 0. The player will also have partial control over the spaceship, as it will start spinning around. On the other side, if you manage to pick up a health pack while under this state, it will fix you up immediately.

-changed lazerfences' design + SFX

-new VFX+SFX for "Protector" when passing through lazerfences

-new VFX when mines pass through a lazerfence

-changed obstacle design

-changed all "Turrets" design

-changed "Turrets" are tracked by camera when they detect you

-changed code for calculating player's distance from mine, the results now are more accurate and constant

-changed Spawn, Exit and Teleporter design

-new decoration models for the maps, adding a 3D feeling to the game

-changed, minor tweaks on maps for better game experience

-changed "Shipblocker" design

-new Post Processing system

-changed "Energy core" design

-new Marks on floor for explosions, and charged ILE-2 projectile blasts

-changed UI +HUD design

-new in game "Information system" for valuable tip on how to play the game

-changed the VFX+SFX when using Brake

-new Dynamic skybox

-new spaceship SFX when changing weapons

-changed PMB mine layer, mines are now dropped from the back of the ship

-new timer VFX on buttons

-new light on fans, the show when they are on or off

-changed code for ILE-2 aiming line, so that it does not deviate on the Z axis anymore
